Day 28. Do you know anyone who celebrates Kwanzaa? What are five facts you didn't know about this holiday?

I am unaware of anyone I know who celebrates Kwanzaa...

1. Kwanzaa is a seven-day celebration from December 26th - January 1st.
2. Kwanzaa is not a religious holiday.
3. Kwanzaa was started in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga to celebrate and honor African culture and to also inspire African-Americans.
4. Kwanzaa is mainly celebrated in the US.
5. Kwanzaa comes from the Swahili phrase Matunda ya Kwanzaa  meaning “First fruits of the harvest”
