November Blog Challenge Day 21: What is your favorite Thanksgiving book? Describe the plot and your reactions to it.

Day 21: What is your favorite Thanksgiving book? Describe the plot and your reactions to it.

The only book I have that has anything with Thanksgiving in it is Peanuts Holidays Through the Year: 5 Classic Stories.

The plot of the story is the same as the cartoon that airs on tv. Charlie Brown is depressed by the holiday, while Peppermint Patty invites herself to his home for Thanksgiving dinner, along with a few others she invites. So Charlie Brown, Linus, and Snoopy set out to make Thanksgiving dinner. While trying to make it on time to charlie Brown's grandmothers home for Thanksgiving dinner.

Snoopy and Woodstock set up the table and chairs, then went to help Linus and Charlie Brown make what they knew how to make: toast, popcorn, chips, pretzels, and jelly beans.

Once their guests arrived thy gathered around to eat and listen to Linus tell the story of Thanksgiving. Once the food was served the 3 guests were surprised to find dinner wasn't what they expected at all. Peppermint Patty gave Charlie Brown a hard time for not having a "real Thanksgiving dinner".

Marcie when to find Charlie Brown for Peppermint Patty, after scolding her for inviting her self and others and then being rude, because she was expecting a great dinner with no notice. "Thanksgiving is more than eating"," we should be thankful just being together."

Charlie Brown called his grandmother to explain that they would be late for her dinner and what happened with his friends. His grandmother proceeded to invite his friends to come for dinner as well since they had nothing to eat but snack food.

I really enjoy the peanut holiday stories. They all have a great message. The message in the Thanksgiving story is that you shouldn't focus on what you do or don't have but just be thankful what you do have.
