Kindness

Many of you may have seen R.A.Ks (random acts of kindness) going around in social media. People should really try to be kind to everyone. It doesn't have to be big or all day. One act of kindness can change a person's life.

R.A.K. I try to do:

  1. My mother-in-law has been sick for many years. Many seem like they don't want to give her the time of day unless its to fuss about something she's doing or done. So when I see her I'll talk to her about what she's been up to and what she's been watching. It doesn't seem like much but for a person who liked to socialize, but doesn't get to now, it means a lot.
  2. If I'm coming out of a store and someone is close and coming in I'll hold the door for them; especially if their older, have small children, or have their hands full.
  3. I don't do this often but I try to go to the retirement homes to visit the people who live there. Many of them never have anyone who comes to visit them.
  4. Anytime I clean out my house or closet I ask around to my friends and family to see if they need anything I'm getting ride of. If they don't then I donate what I don't need/use to Goodwill or clothing/food drives. I just recently moves so this just happened in the last week.
  5. I collect my grocery bags in a bag. When I get multiple bag fulls I donate them to local food banks. I also use them around the house and in the car as trash bags.
